A finished basement in West Lafayette built around a full bar, with seating, storage and display in one run along the wall.
The bar is the centerpiece. A butcher block top runs the length of the island and overhangs far enough to seat people on the open side, with an espresso cabinet base below and power built into the end panel. Behind it, a granite back counter holds a bar sink and faucet, flanked by tall cabinets with glass fronts and vertical cubbies sized for wine bottles.
The rest of the room was finished to match. Walls are a soft blue green over white baseboard, and the structural post in the middle of the floor was boxed in and painted white so it reads as a column rather than an obstacle. Recessed lighting is spread across the ceiling in two rows, which matters in a basement where there is no daylight to fall back on. Wood look plank flooring runs wall to wall.
