A traditional kitchen in Frankfort, rebuilt with cherry raised panel cabinetry running two full walls and a large island at the center of the room.
The cabinets carry crown molding across the top and under cabinet lighting over the work surfaces. Perimeter counters and the island top are speckled granite, and a linear stone mosaic backsplash pulls the cabinet tone together with the floor. The window above the sink was kept and trimmed to match the cabinets.
The island does most of the work in this room. It seats three along the open side and gives the cook a landing zone between the range and the sink without blocking the walkway. A linear pendant hangs over it and recessed cans fill in the rest of the ceiling, so there are no dark corners at the counter. Wood look plank flooring runs through the space.
Stainless appliances finished it out, including a french door refrigerator, a slide in range under a vented hood, and a dishwasher set beside the sink.
